Tom the Turkey

One of Jackson's projects this year was "Tom the Turkey." They've been learning about Thanksgiving and their objective was to take their tureky template (named Tom) and disguise him as best as possible so that he wouldn't be eaten on Thanksgiving day. We thought this project would be so fun and brainstormed for a couple of days what to do. Well, the outcome I think is pretty obvious seeing as that we're AVID BYU football fans!

Here's Jackson's Tom the Turkey disguised as none other than a BYU football fan! Can you tell football season is in full swing at our house?!?! We stuffed him with cotton balls to make him look even fatter and added everything that we could think of that a football fan would wear during a chilly football game! I think he turned out awesome!

Well you all know that our artsy Mikaela couldn't be left behind on this project. Despite not having this be her homework she still wanted to do it anyway. So I copied Jackson's template and let her go to town. I think she did a pretty good job. She says it's not anything in particular, she just disguised "Tom the Turkey" very well. I'm pretty impressed because I really did not help her one bit.

Not sure what this project actually taught about Thanksgiving, but it was fun nonetheless! Jackson's tureky is proudly displayed in a hallway at school and Mikaela's is up on our fridge. You better believe we won't be eating these turkey's this Thanksgiving since the kids disguised them so well ;)
