Amusement Parks

Our trip to California would not have been complete without a couple of visits to varying amusement parks. Jackson and Mikaela were lucky enough to go to two amusement parks while we were out there. One being Six Flags: Discovery Kingdom and the other being Great America. They loved both parks equally and had the time of their life riding as many rides as possible. Since we went during the week the parks were so empty that they never waited to get on a ride! We did learn a couple of things about our kids during these visits that we had yet to find out. One, Mikaela is certainly our daredevil. I think if she would have made the cut in height for all the rides she would have been on all of them. She was the one that convinced Jackson to do the free fall ride in the kiddie land at Great America. On every ride she would throw her hands up in the air and scream her heart out. If you ask her now what you do on roller coasters she will willing demonstrate this act:) Two, we learned that Jackson is our more reserved roller coaster rider and enjoyed more the bumper cars and the water play areas. That's alright, at least he has Mikaela to balance him out and convince him to try the more daring stuff:) Below are pics of our trip to Six Flags seeing as that that is the one that Jared and I took the kids to. My mom was brave enough to take both of them to Great America by herself so that Jared and I could have time to ourselves, so no pics from there. Enjoy:)

Here is the whole fam with all the Looney Tunes Characters we could find:) Alexis even enjoyed herself, despite the sweltering heat!Mikaela in the water area. Jackson in the water area.
Here they are on this boat spinny ride. You can't quite see them but they are right by the red life preserver on the uncovered part of the boat. If you see a pink shirt that's where they are at.
On the elephant and froggy ride. Jackson was the one manning the controls and he kept them low to the ground the whole time. I could hear Mikaela telling him to make the animals fly up in the air like the others and he refused!! We all thought that was kind of funny:)

Here were our impromptu babysitters at Six Flags. My brother and his girlfriend decided to come along. Little did they know they were going to be the ones the kids wanted to have with them on all the rides. Here they are waiting in line for a Jeep wagon ride, on the ride (doesn't my brother look a little to big to be sitting in the back...lol!!), and then on a balloon ride. Thanks Kike and Adriana for helping us out with the kids that day:)
Here is the infamous Thomasland for which we made the trip to Six Flags for to begin with. Jackson and Mikaela were in heaven. It's not that big of an area in the park but the kids had a great time. I must say it is quite a good creation of all the Thomas facilities.
Jackson and Mikaela are on Bertie the Bus in the first pics and then on Harold the Helicopter in the last photos.
Here are Jackson and I about to start the little kiddie roller coaster. After the first ride he was done (you were allowed two rides each turn) and we quickly hopped out. Mikaela is in the picture to the right of us with Jared. If you click on the photo to enlarge it you can totally see her. She's in the third car back I believe. She did both rides and loved it! And then below is just both of them on the Carousel. A classic favorite.
