Conference and Waffles

Since we got married Jared and I decided we should start a fun tradition for Conference weekends. We love food, so we decided on having a fabulous breakfast of Belgian Waffles in the morning with every fixing you can imagine on top. What better way to watch Conference than with a yummy breakfast! Well, we loved it the first time we did it and have not stopped since. The kids now are extremely excited whenever Conference weekend rolls around and look forward to the tastiest waffles ever. So, since last weekend was Conference here are pics of what took place in our kitchen Sunday morning:)

All the fixings one would like on tope of a Belgian waffle. And yes, that's ice cream there on the counter. That's one of the essential toppings in our house for these waffles!! The eager recipients! They kept asking if the waffles were ready about every 5 minutes. They couldn't wait to dig in:)
Here's Jacks' creation. He opted for Starwberries, chocoloate chips, ice cream, cool whip, and chocolate syrup. Yes, I know it is quite a sugary breakfast so early in the morning, but we only do these type of waffles on Conference weekends.

He ate this so fast that he even asked for more all before the opening song was over!

Mickey's creation. She opted for the same as Jacks', go figure:)

She loved it too and actually just kept asking for more strawberries! I guess every bite of waffle to her had to have a strawberry too.

Here is Jared's creation. Of course he had to be different, his was topped with bananas, caramel syrup, nuts, ice cream, and whip cream. It was really tasty...I stole a bite:)
Here's mine. Just like the kids' version. I guess we all know from who they get their love for strawberries and chocolate!

We love our Conference and Waffles! Now to wait until April:)

Yum! What a fun tradition! Our tradition is to go to McDonald's (a fairly rare occasion) for lunch in between sessions on Saturday - this one started with me and my best friend while we were in college...I couldn't let it go when we got married!

Your tradition is contagious! You probably don't even remember having Kirk and me over when we were still dating and you were newly married, but Kirk fell in love with your yummy waffles that Conference time and has insisted on them ever since! Thanks for a great idea. : )
