Should we stay or should we go...

Well, the answer to the pressing question in our minds for the past two weeks has finally been answered. We are LEAVING. For those of you who don't know, ATK (Jared's current company of employment) has been going through a huge series of cutbacks. We have survived four lay-offs already; however, there are more to come. This constant state of insecurity has really been taking its toll on us and it led Jared to begin putting his resume out there months ago in case anything were to happen. Well, luckily, like I said, we have survived all the lay-offs to date, but Jared continued on looking for other employment and two weeks ago a company out in Texas called him for an interview. After three rounds of interviews, including a trip out to Texas, they offered him an amazing job out in the Dallas area last week! We were estatic to say the least, but the ever pressing question as to should we go was ever present in our minds. Here are the two biggest questions that we were dealing with: Should we stay and tough it out here and hope and pray we won't get fired? Or should we have him take this job and leave me behind to sell the house?!?!? I tell ya it was one of the hardest decisions we have made in a long time. But after much consideration we decided taking the job was our best bet.

So even though I am so sad to leave this town we have called home for the past three years, I am so happy that we will have peace in terms of job security in our home. And seriously, as soon as we decided to take this job that is all we have felt, PEACE. So, Jared starts in three weeks, and I stay behind with the kids and cross my fingers that my house sells quickly and well. I am sure it won't be easy but seeing as that it is the best circumstance right now for my family, I'll take it. So for all of our friends out in Texas, we're headed your way! And for all my dear friends here in Utah...we have got to get together before we head out (even though realistically I may be here for quite some time! AGHGH)!

Oh, Oh, I'm in Texas! We're four hours south of Dallas in San Antonio, but we do get up in that direction to go to the BYU-TCU football games. And if you ever want to make a trip down here and see the Alamo and stuff, you could come and stay! We could even run together (After April-the baby)! I hope you like Dallas!

Wow, Crazy. I can't believe you guys are moving, but sounds like it's all going to work out, and if it were me... I'd be looking forward to great weather. Praying for a quick sale for you guys.

Your situation matches ours almost exactly! It is a rough time out there and it pays to be proactive. Literally. I hope that we are able to feel that same peace you descibe when we finally make our decision. At least we will still have our blogs wherever we end up living, right?

I have been MIA and just checked your blog. I was enjoying fun little pictures of your cute kids and then I saw this post...you are moving? I am sure it has been a hard decision, but so happy that you feel right about it. How blessed you were for Jared to find a job. I am sure it will be hard to move, but you are amazing and will handle it perfectly. I hope your home sells quickly and you can move your entire family soon!
