Just wanted to write what a fun Mother's Day weekend I ended up having. It all started on Friday when I went with Jackson to a Mother's Day tea at his preschool. Of course Mikaela and Alexis came with and we all enjoyed cake and water with Jackson, his fellow classmates, and their moms. It was fun to see him bring me water and choose our pieces of cake. Then he presented me with a beautiful key chain. I promptly had to put it with the rest of my keys and at that moment I realized I had become a mom that would soon acquire a slew of trinkets as my kids got older. I don't know why it was so profound to have him give me that gift but it was. I feel like not long ago I was the little kid giving my mom all those trinkets that say "#1 Mom" on them. I was always so proud to give them to her and I could see Jacks was really happy to be handing me one that day. I will treasure it forever. Below are a couple of photos of us on the day. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to take any in his classroom, but I wanted pics of the day so we just took them at home.
Me and Mikaela hamming it up for the camera.
Here is the key chain he made for me. I gather he probably had quite some help from his teachers seeing as that it is made of quite little beads:)
Then Saturday was a relaxing day of playing outside and just enjoying doing yardwork. We finished off the weekend with Sunday and what a day that was. They woke me up with gifts and breakfast and choruses of Happy Mother's Day. Jackson and Mikaela went around the entire day telling me I was their #1 Mom. It made me smile every time:) We attempted church all together for the first time since Alexis and it went relatively well. Then we enjoyed Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for dinner with yummy chocolate cake for dessert. Can't complain, all in all, I had a great weekend.
