San Francisco - 2010

Our summer continued going strong while our family from Maryland was still in town after my brother's wedding. We were so fortunate to go around the Bay Area with them and sure made some fun memories. I don't know if it's because we don't get to see them so often or we were just camera happy, but between my brother and I, we managed to take some 300+ pictures during their two week stay at my Mom's. CRAZY! That is why for the next few posts there will be A LOT of collages!

So our first outing was down to Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39 up in San Francisco! What fun we had, especially with ALL the potty breaks that had to be taken! Good thing we weren't on any time constraints!

Here's my Mom and my Tia Dinora (who was up from El Salvador) with all the grandkids minus baby Leylen. The pic is out of order from what we did but I wanted to start with it first:) What a feat to get everybody to look at the camera at the same time. But I think it turned out pretty good! This was taken at the end of the day and everyone was still smiling, goes to show we had a good day:) Alright, back to the beginning. We started the day down at Pier 39. The kids were so excited to go and see the Sea Lions. Interestingly enough, there weren't that many out so the normal stench that is associated with viewing the Sea Lions was hardly even there! Thank goodness for me! We walked around the entire Pier, making sure to stop and look at Alcatraz and wave to all the Ferry Boats going by.

When we finally finished walking around the entire outside of the Pier we headed inward towards the giant carousel! Boy were the kids happy to do that! And we made it just in time to see a Pirate Comedy show. In one of the pics you'll see my nephew Evan with Captain Jack SpareRibbs!
After the show we kept walking the Pier and found this funky hat shop called Krazy Kaps! I went in to buy Jared a Brazil cap and the kids ending up finding this section in the back where they could try on all these fun hats!
Our journey continued as we all wanted to make it Ghiradelli Square for a yummy dessert! I ask the attendant at Krazy Kaps and he said it was only a ten minute walk from Pier 39. Yeah, I don't think he saw the amount of people that we had. We FINALLY made it there about 35 minutes later! The kids were troopers though and never complained. I guess they were really looking forward to the ice cream! One of the perks to making the long walk was that we ended up making it to the Trolley Station. We didn't get a chance to ride one, the line was too long, but the kids liked watching them.
Finally eating our YUMMY ice cream! This is one of my favorite spots in the city! I love Ghiradelli!
After Ghiradelli we were all beat. We walked all the way back to our car and made it home without a hitch! What a day! I'm leaving you with this awesome pic my sis-in-law Michele took of the street leading up to Ghiradelli Square. Doesn't that look so cool!
