1. July 29th: Mikaela's third day of a sky high fever. Take her in to the doctor's office...STREP THROAT. She NEVER even complained about her throat!. She gets put on antibiotics and so does Jackson (he wasn't sick, but the doctor said just in case).
2. July 30th: After a week of caring for Mikaela I wake up not feeling so great. Since I had my Vegas trip with Jared planned I decide to go to the doctor's office just in case. After explaining the situation at home he puts me on Antibiotics because most likely my body's trying to fight off something. LOVELY.
3. August 20th: We've been antibiotic free in our home for 11 days. WHY oh WHY do I have to wake up with a sore throat?!?!? AGAIN!?!?!? I go to the doctor's office...not waiting a day at all! Yup, it's STREP!! Docotor calls it odd that I would get it seeing as that I had just finished a round of antibioitcs a few days ago. Prescribes me yet another drug.
4. August 30th: Still on my second round of antibiotics. WHY oh WHY do I have a massive migraine and sinus congestion. I chalk it up to the race I just ran, but after four days like this I go into the Doc's office on Sept. 2nd. Yeah, SINUS INFECTION! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!?! Doc says it's probably all the training I'm doing. Whatever...get prescribed a THIRD set of antibiotics and a nasal spray.
*Oh and just for the heck of it I mention that the bridge of my nose still hurts from a head butting incident Mikaela and I had two weeks back at Raging Waters. He takes a look at my nose...IT'S BROKEN!! What the heck!?!? He says that it'll take another four weeks to heal and unless I want a nose job to fix the minor crookedness, there's no need for surgery. UGH.
5. Sept. 5th: Finally feeling like my old self again. Jared and I have big plans to clean up our yard and garage in preperation for the winter to come. We've been out for no more than 20 minutes when we hear screaming coming from the cul de sac where Jacks was riding his bike. I drop the broom and start running up the front lawn when I see Jackson with a mouth full of blood and his entire clothes covered in blood!!! Apparently he lost control of his bike on the downhill and fell face first on the pavement. Thank goodness he was wearing his helmet was all I was thinking.
After cleaning him up we found the source of all the blood...a HUGE gash on the inside of his mouth. It was super deep and not even Jared hesitated to agree with me here...off to the doctor's we went. After about an hour and having three different nurses and a doctor look at him we walked out with no stitches. Apparently since he didn't cut all the way through his mouth they didn't need to do stitches, but the poor boy looks like he's been fighting Rocky Balboa!
So that's 5 doctor's visits in 39 days! With 3 rounds of antibiotics for me, and one round of antibiotics each for Mikaela and Jackson. That's a record for us. Me and the pharmacist at Walgreens became friends. We went so often that towards the end there I was paying nothing for my prescriptions!! Can it all be over now?

So sorry. I hope little Jackson feels better soon. That looks like it hurts!!
Here's to staying away from the doctor!!!
Good luck.
Gosh, you guys need a break!
I hope it is all over. We have had our share of sickness here. It is isn't fun. I just can't believe you got sick so much and you are in such awesome shape! Here's to no more trips to Walgreens. I hope Jackson heals quickly and that your nose does do. A broken nose and you didn't even know it?!? You are wonderwoman!
It does always seem to come in groups of illness/injury. I hope your family is done with that.
So MUCH fun! And now we are headed into the lovely Winter months when you can count on someone getting sick at least once! Adventures. VERY nice job on your half-marathon! I am impressed. Good to hear your updates, and cute pics of the family!
